YHA’s an iconic British travel brand with over 140 hostels across England and Wales. For decades, it’s helped people get out, explore, and connect through shared adventure. But like a lot of heritage brands, it was tied to a dated perception — with little to zero recognition among UK travellers.
The Challenge
The brand was struggling to stand out in a crowded staycation market. Audiences associated YHA with school residential’s; as functional, not aspirational, and not for me!
The goal: increase awareness, shift perceptions, grow engagement, and prove that brand-led creative can deliver measurable commercial results—all in just eight weeks.
Our Approach
To reignite momentum, rebuild community, and work with the algorithm (not against it), we launched a multi-channel campaign built on scroll-stopping content, edutainment, creative activations, and paid social support — all designed to spark FOMO, fuel discovery, and drive intent.
We tapped into our little black book of creators combined with our channel specific strategies to build a brand driven and instantly recognised creative execution that built views and reach week on week. Combined with performance driven meta ads we achieved a full holistic impact of brand discovery, education and commercial results.
